How do you celebrate 65 years of Lijnbaan in a way that engages both longtime residents and new visitors while keeping its rich history alive?
We created an interactive storytelling installation that invites people to explore Lijnbaan’s past, present, and future at their own pace. By making history accessible and immersive, we ensured that Lijnbaan’s stories continue to inspire for generations to come.

Time Machine – This interactive installation brings the stories of Lijnbaan to life, sharing the memories of Rotterdam’s citizens from then, now, and tomorrow. Using motion sensors, visitors can select and relive these stories at any time of day, 24/7. Created to celebrate Lijnbaan’s 65th anniversary, this installation honors its legacy as Rotterdam’s iconic shopping street.
